November 15:

Pray for Vocations

AUGUST PRAYER INTENTION OF THE SUPERIOR GENERAL

For Those Who Have Suffered
in the Care of the Church

As Pope Francis recently concluded his “penitential pilgrimage” to Canada, let us pray for all of those who have suffered injustices, abuse, discrimination, or rejection by the Church. With God’s grace may they find a home again within a worshipping community where their suffering can be transformed to a healing peace by the love and compassion they receive. We pray that the Holy Father’s words and witness in Canada will be a reminder that no one is exempt from seeking reconciliation.

John Tryon

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus—the Christ,

In accordance with a recommendation from the Midwest Provincial Chapter 2021, Brother Kenneth Haders has designated me as facilitator to disseminate available information to educate, and update, our province members and ministries in ways to preserve the integrity of our common home and actively engage in nurturing and protecting God’s creation.

To that end, I will periodically share, via Midwest-Midweek and other vehicles, information and resources which I hope will be helpful in reclaiming the resources of our precious planet.

In this first communication, I share with you the prayer which Pope Francis composed and with which he closed his powerful encyclical Laudato Si’.

                                                                                                  Fraternally in Holy Cross,

                                                                                                         John F. Tryon, C.S.C.

Let us learn to make up for our weaknesses by accepting with generosity the little sacrifices involved in our daily life. (Letters)
